Extend RFID User IDs to Include SimonsVoss Locking System Integration
Are your RFID cards or tags compatible with SimonsVoss systems?
We’re here to help you find out.
RFID cards and tags are an excellent tool for streamlining everyday operations across your organisation. Whether used for payments in the staff canteen, secure document printing, or controlled access to different areas, these credentials help create a seamless experience for users.
However, the RFID technology inside a card is not visible from the outside, and its internal configuration is often unclear. For your RFID card to support multiple systems, each system must be compatible with the card’s specific configuration.
Before integrating a SimonsVoss locking system, it’s essential to assess whether your existing RFID media (e.g., cards, key fobs, tags) are compatible. This ensures that they can support expanded functionality both now and in the future.
The SimonsVoss 3060 locking system supports the following card technologies:
· MIFARE® Classic
· MIFARE DESFire® (3DES only*)
· MIFARE DESFire® EV1/ EV2 / EV3
*(only suitable for G2 locking devices, not for SREL3, SH AX and other AX locking devices).

The following key points are examined by our experts:

In addition to card technology, we check your cards for:
Card configuration
Even if your card uses a supported technology, its configuration may limit its use with additional systems like SimonsVoss 3060. Configurations may have been altered by other providers or systems, which can prevent the use of SimonsVoss functions due to encryption or locked access. If you have the relevant keys, we may be able to conduct further testing.
Storage Locations
The 3060 locking system requires free memory space on the card. We check whether the memory space on the card is sufficient for a SimonsVoss locking system. You will then receive a configuration recommendation for the system.
Read Performance
The quality and hardware of RFID cards can vary significantly. After installing your 3060 system, we will confirm that our readers can reliably detect and read your cards.
Requirements for a successful test
For the test to be as accurate as possible, your future access card must already have been programmed by any existing second- or third-party systems. This means that all the functions you have been using should be available on the card. However, no security-related information (e.g., access rights) or credit balances may be stored on the card. Our tests may result in changes to the card configuration.
Test procedure
1. Register your card test here.
2. You will receive an email with a completed cover letter. Return this to us together with your RFID card(s).
3. We will test the cards and inform you and your SimonsVoss sales representative of the result.
