Technical information on replacing batteries in SmartHandle AX and SmartHandle AX Advanced | 09/2025
Our customers' safety is always a top priority for us. We’d like to remind you today that it’s important to observe the correct polarity when replacing the batteries in your SmartHandle AX and SmartHandle AX Advanced devices. It is essential to insert batteries correctly to ensure that your device will function properly. Incorrect polarity can cause batteries to heat up and, in very rare cases, explode.
Please note that the two positive poles touch each other when you insert the batteries. You will find precise instructions on correct polarity and battery replacement in the quick guide for your particular product.

New version AXM Lite & Classic v2.0 now available! | 08/2025
We are pleased to announce that the new versions of AXM Lite and Classic v2.0 are now available.

Free licence upgrade
Existing licences have been upgraded to the new main version free of charge. This means that existing installations will continue to receive all updates within this version at no additional cost.
Important information about installation
Manual installation via download is required due to the size of this update. The integrated update function will only display an availability notification, but will not perform the update automatically. The setups for the new versions are available here.
After installation
You can continue working with your software as usual. Please ensure you have the necessary administrator rights for installation.

Important change to AX2Go key dispatch from 13 August 2025 | 08/2025
From 13/08/2025; all new AX2Go users will need to download the AX2Go app from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store before their digital key with access authorisations can be loaded.
Previously, if the app was not installed, the user was directed to the respective app store via the link in the invitation email or SMS in order to install the app. After installation, the included key was loaded directly into the app. This feature was based on Google’s “Firebase Dynamic Links” service, which will be discontinued at the end of August 2025.
The two steps mentioned above are now disconnected from each other. We will adapt the invitation texts in the email and SMS accordingly. In future, all users will receive clear instructions to first download the AX2Go app and subsequently click on the second link to download the key. A new version of the app will be available for iOS and Android at the time of the changeover. You will need this version to complete the changeover process. Existing AX2Go keys are not affected by this change.

End of Support for Windows 10 – impact on SimonsVoss software | 08/2025
From 1 November 2025, Windows 10 will no longer be a system requirement for future software versions.
What does this mean?
> No new software versions will be released for Windows 10
> Troubleshooting will no longer be provided for issues that occur on Windows 10
Why this change?
Microsoft has discontinued extended support for Windows 10. This means that Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or patches for this operating system. This creates potential security risks, which may also affect our software. We can no longer guarantee system security on unpatched Windows 10 systems.
What does this mean for you?
If you have not already done so, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 11 to ensure the security and maintenance of our systems. All current SimonsVoss software versions are already approved for use on Windows 11. Further information on approved versions and system requirements is available on our Website.

Replacement options for discontinued SmartHandle AX product variants | 07/2025
We would like to inform you today about the impending discontinuation of certain SmartHandle AX product variants and introduce you to the suitable version of our new SmartHandle AX Advanced fitting as a replacement. The following SmartHandle AX variants are being discontinued: *-S2.F1.* for converting long plate fittings with a hole spacing of 195 mm and a distance of 70 mm *-S2.A4.*P1 for installing panic bars without an inner plate and an internal round rosette with a distance of 72 mm *-S2.A4.*P2 for installing panic bars without an inner plate and an internal round rosette with a distance of 92 mm

*-S2.A4.*P2 ⇒ *-S3.A4.6/7*PO92 Please note that the SmartHandle AX is wider than the SmartHandle AX Advanced. Therefore, after conversion, residues may be visible on doors. Based on current estimates, we expect the discontinued products to be available until November 2025. Please note, however, that availability depends on demand, and in the event of unexpectedly high orders, stocks may be depleted more quickly. We therefore cannot guarantee availability until this date. We are of course available to answer any questions you may have. SmartHandle AX Advanced The modern successor to SmartHandle 3062 The new mechatronic SmartHandle AX Advanced is a state-of-the-art replacement for the SmartHandle 3062. The benefits of the new hardware are particularly evident when used in exterior doors and escape routes. In its weatherproof version, this electronic door handle is completely protected against environmental influences such as dust or direct water spray, which is also a great advantage for free-standing external doors such as those in fences. In its version with a security fitting, SmartHandle AX Advanced offers the maximum certified burglary protection. In the A4 version, it is compatible with panic bars - for escape and rescue routes. |

Discontinuation of SmartHandle 3062 | 04/2025
Launched in 2012, the SmartHandle 3062 was the first mechatronic door fitting from SimonsVoss. Our SmartHandle AX Advanced has been launched in 2025, replacing the previous version. This new handle, with its new technology, makes the handle suitable for a wider range of applications.
SmartHandle 3062 will be available until October 2025, or as long as stocks last. Please note that due to the discontinuation of some versions, product availability may end sooner. Please contact your sales representative or our internal sales department before ordering a specific variant. We recommend that you offer your customers our new SmartHandle AX Advanced fitting with immediate effect.
Please also note that with the discontinuation of SmartHandle 3062, some functions will no longer be supported. The snap-in function will not be directly replaced, and integrated door monitoring will not be supported by the new fitting for the time being.
